NOTE: QUEST 103: Publication set for November 2009.
Quest has been popular for a number of years and we have developed a large archive of articles from past issues. We have created an "archives" area within this website, which will grow over time. To get the ball rolling however, we have posted a piece written by the Society's President, which we think you will enjoy, either by re-reading, or as your first exposure to the journal. Enjoy A Pregnant Pause here.
In addition to features about Quest, we would like to make this page available for all-matters "BOOKS", especially books about English and its usage. Please contact The Webmaster if you wish to publish a review or draw attention to a 'good read' on the subject.
(SHAKIN') THE KETCHUP
BOT'LE
'(Shakin') the Ketchup Bot’le’, the book commissioned by the Queen’s English Society and published by Buckingham University Press,is still available. The book is a compilation of articles which were originally published in Quest, the journal of the Queen’s English Society. Mike Gorman undertook the daunting task of searching through back issues of the journal to source interesting, yet entertaining material. The book was edited by James Alexander, with cartoons courtesy of Nathan Ariss. Ray Ward, a long-standing member of the QES, decided to take a busman's holiday from proof-reading Quest to help with this publication and the total project was overseen by Sidney Callis.
